Book Releases & Deals

Leap of Faith by Kate Willoughby is coming out October 26 from Liquid Silver Books. It’s a story for anyone who ever fantasized about a man decked out in a loincloth.

Dawn Halliday’s hot Highlander novella Winter Heat will be released by Penguin/NAL on November 3 as part of the A Highlander Christmas Anthology.

The Seeking Kiss by Eden Bradley, an erotic /vampire/urban fantasy/menage novella from Samhain, the first book in her new Midnight Playground series, will be out on October 20. Also, Eden’s latest erotic novel from Bantam/Delta, The Beauty of Surrender, will be out October 27. This is a two-part erotic novel with a Shibari rope bondage theme.

Lynne Marshall sold her ninth Medical Romance to Harlequin Mills and Boon on October 1st. It will be out in August, 2010.

Eden Bradley contracted a four-story erotic romance series with Samhain-The Celestial Seductions Series, which will be four short novellas, will be released over the next year.

Georgie Lee sold a contemporary romance titled Labor Relations to Avalon.

Jenna Ives‘ sexy novella The Initiation Of Isabella was released by Samhain on September 29 and made the bestseller list at My Bookstore And More two days later!

Dawn Halliday’s hot Highlander romance, HIGHLAND OBSESSION, released on August 4 from Penguin/NAL Signet Eclipse.

KB Alan’s second book, ALPHA TURNED, comes out with Ellora’s Cave on August 21.

Carol Ericson writing as Mia Varano’s novella, THE GEE SPOT was released at eRed Sage.

Christine London’s first print book was release in the anthology METROPOLITAN PASSIONS Vol. 2. Also, her book, LEAP OF FAITH, has been contracted with Awe Struck Publishing for February 2010 release.

Charlene Sands‘ TEXAN’S WEDDING NIGHT WAGER–Book #3 in the Texan’s Cattleman’s Club continuity–is available now on Amazon and Eharlequin, and in bookstores in September. So far, it is an Eharlequin Top Ten Bestseller for August. She was invited to do a Christmas Anthology for Harlequin Historicals for 2010 along with Cheryl St. John and one other Unnamed author!

Trish Albright received an offer for a new two book deal with Dorchester Publishing to continue her historical adventure series. And she has a new contract to be part of a 2010 Christmas Anthology for Dorchester that will include Mary Balogh!

Evie Byrne’s vampire romance Called By Blood, released from Samhain Publishing.

Carol Ericson’s Harlequin Intrigue, Circumstantial Memories, released this month. She also sold two more books, her fourth and fifth to Harlequin Intrigue! These books will be released in January, 2010 and May, 2010.

Contests & Recognition

Krista Johnson finished her novel—an 85,000-word single title contemporary romance with comic elements. She also entered it in the NYC Love and Laughter Contest.

Rochelle Staab received a request for the first fifty pages of her first novel from agent Betsy Amster.

Suzanne Lazear received a partial request for Stakes & Corsets from Scott Egan at Greyhaus Literary Agency. Harlequin Teen rejected her YA Interfluit.

D.B. Reynolds took first place in the published category of the RWA Utah Heart of the West contest, and the final judge, Miriam Kriss of the Irene Goodman Agency, requested her full manuscript.

Leigh Court took 2nd place in the Passionate Ink “Stroke of Midnight” contest in the Futuristic/Fantasy/Sci Fi category for her story THE EDGE OF TIME. Her story, THE BET, was released last month in the Secrets Vol. 27 Anthology.

Cecelia LeBaron won an honorable mention in the “Fool For Love” contest put on by the Virginia Romance Writers for her paranormal TO BITE OR NOT TO BITE.

Suzanne Lazear’s YA paranormal, INTERFLUIT, received several more rejections and requests, including a request for a full from Book Cents Agency.  Her story TRICKING THE TREATERS got rejected from Shimmer Magazine. She sent STAKES & CORSETS (steampunk romance for adults) to an editor at ACE who was twittering about wanting steampunk. She also received a request for a full from Jim McCarthy at Dystel & Goodrich! At conference, INTERFLUIT got 2 fulls, INNOCENT DARKNESS (WIP, steampunk YA) got a partial, STAKES & CORSETS got 3 fulls and a partial, and STEALING SEATTLE (WIP, Urban Fantasy) got a partial.

Robin Bielman’s paranormal, TAKE ME TONIGHT, is a finalist in the Maggie Awards.

Erica Barton got a request for a partial from an agent at conference, and she also got a request from the Marsal Lyon Literary Agency for her historical romance THE WAY TO HIS HEART.

Kathy Bennett is a finalist in the Orange Country Chapter’s Orange Rose contest with her manuscript A DOZEN DEADLY ROSES. Also at conference, she received requests from two agents for A DOZEN DEADLY ROSES.

Tanya Hanson’s OUTLAW BRIDE has finaled in the Romance Through the Ages contest sponsored by Hearts through History, the online RWA chapter dedicated to historical romance. Her book, MARRYING MINDA, was released on June 5 from The Wild Rose Press.

Charlene Sands won the 2009 Bookseller’s Best Award for her Silhouette Desire DO NOT DISTURB UNTIL CHRISTMAS.

Trish Albright’s adventurous historical romance SIREN’S SONG won the 2009 Write Touch Readers Award. Siren’s Song is also a finalist for the 2009 Beacon Award.

Lynne Marshall‘s current UK Mills and Boon release ASSIGNMENT: BABY has received 4.5 stars from Cataromance and 5 stethoscopes from Book Illuminations.

Jody Brightman finaled in the Great Expectations contest with her second book, Apollo Rising.

Robin Bielman’s contemporary single title, Designs on You, is a finalist in the Launching a Star contest put on by the SpacecoasT Authors of Romance.
