02-13-08 Romance is in the Air ...And in the Book: LARA members take over Burbank Library! Not quite, but join us at the Burbank Public Library/Buena Vista for a chat about the changing field of romance and how to get started. Pre-published members Genella deGrey and Sandra Lee Robinson and published members Dayle A Dermatis, Jax Cassidy, Christine London and Lynne Marshall will be discussing genres, getting started with your romance and finishing it!

02-06-08 Betty Hechtman reports she has been asked to participate on a Sisters in Crime - L.A. panel in May.

02-05-08 Viviane Brentanos has been offered a contract for her single title Dreamweek and Christine London a contract on her single title romantic suspense Shadows Steal The Light by Tiger publications. Both books will be going into print in the summer of 2010.

02-01-08 D'Anne Avner reports signing with agent Nicole Gregory at Horton & Gregory Associates LLC.

Lynne Marshall is a cataramance Reviewer’s Choice award winner for her Mills & Boone Medical, Her LA Knight.

Robert Hecker’s mystery/thriller/romance novel "Murder By Proxy" has been selected as a finalist in its category in the prestigious EPPIE awards contest. A community theatre in Fullerton has selected his latest stage play "Borderline" for its premier production next spring. His musical "Honestly Abe" has been accepted for the Academy of New Musical Theatre's New Voices of 2008 contest.

Fronnie Lewis’s workshop proposal has been accepted for the Romance Writers of America 28th Annual National Conference in San Francisco this July. Her workshop is called Romancing the Internet: Simple Ways to Boot-up Your Writing Career by Blogging.

Bettie Sharpe’s first sale, a futuristic erotic paranormal novella called Like a Thief in the Night was released by Samhain on Tuesday, January 15 as one of the Strangers in the Night anthology. 

Dawn Halliday sold her Scottish Historical, Highland Obsession, as part of a 2-book deal to NAL Signet Eclipse.

Nicole Coady sold her first manuscript, Moonlight on Diamonds, to The Wild Rose Press.

Coffee & Conversation at the Burbank Library presents Romance is in the air...and in the book! Featuring several of our LARA authors. Dayle Dermatis, Lynne Marshall, D'Anne Avner, Christine London, Jax Cassidy, Genella deGray, Sandra Lee Robinson. February 23rd.

Janie Emaus reports that she's a finalist in the Linda Howard Award of Excellence Contest in the Unique Genre.

TJ Bennett reports that Romantictimes.com has invited her to participate in their "exclusive
Author Spotlight area" on their new website. She'll be featured in the spotlight in March 2008 in anticipation of her April release of The Legacy, a historical romance set in Reformation Germany.

01-03-08 Dawn Halliday's manuscript was accepted into Volume Four of Ellora's Cavemen 2008 anthology.

01-01-08 Carol Ericson reports that eRed Sage bought her short story, Sex and the Single Pearl. It has a tentative Aug. release date.

01-01-08 Eden Bradley's Harlequin Spice Briefs story, Soul Strangers, was released today. Available through eharlequin.com
